LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) comprehend the phenomenon of fashion in terms of aesthetics and socio-economic as well as in terms of design,
2) better understand the aesthetic aspect of fashion and the driving forces in the development of this aspect,
3) understand how the concepts of fashion and commodity aesthetics are intertwined,
4) understand the main lines and theories of commodity aesthetics,
5) better understand the applications and tools of Meta aesthetics.

COURSE DEFINITIONIn this course; The interaction and applications between fashion and commodity aesthetics are examined from both theory and practice. From production to consumption of fashion, which is an important application of commodity aesthetics; A very wide field of application, from the psychology of the receiver to the technocracy of sensibility, is handled under the umbrella of aesthetics.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week What is fashion, the definition of fashion, the phenomenon of fashion and philosophical-sociological interpretations.
2nd Week The aesthetic function of fashion - fashion products and the design process - applied aesthetic process.
3rd Week Fashion Theories, basic principles of fashion, common points and applications of fashion and commodity aesthetics
4th Week Creativity and design in meta aesthetics, Trend Concepts, Trend Setters, Trend Creators and Role Models.
5th Week Types of fashion; high fashion (Haute Couture), ready-to-wear (Prete porter), street fashion (Street Style).
6th Week Meta aesthetics theory and applications.
7th Week Visa
8th Week Advertising and fashion in commodity aesthetics.
9th Week Design aesthetics and sales aesthetic applications - Market Analysis. Sales Space design.
10th Week Psychological driving force in commodity aesthetics: Youth addiction and youth emphasis.
11th Week Anthropological philosophical background of commodity aesthetics - universality from design - concept of locality - establishment of sexual identities, national identity and clothing culture.
12th Week Fashion in the consumer society- The concept of the new and the creation of the new- Is the new old?
13th Week The global operation of commodity aesthetics.
14th Week General evaluation-Discussion.
