COURSE DEFINITIONTo convey the concept of art management and the curatorial profession, which is aimed within the scope of the course, by taking into account the historical transformation; is to open the link between art and society through museology. In addition, with the analysis of important exhibition examples from Turkey and the world, students will be introduced to different styles in a wide framework.
COURSE CONTENTS

1st Week Introduction and introduction. Who is the curator? Information about the working area and general structure of curation. The relationship between museology and curatorship. The concept of exhibition and art management.
2nd Week Transition from collecting to museology: exhibitions and curation in the 17th century.
3rd Week Institutionalization and museology: Exhibitions and curation in the 18th century.
4th Week Nationalist movements and museology: Exhibitions and curation in the 19th century.
5th Week Alternative themes in museology: exhibitions and curation in the 20th century.
6th Week Thematic museums: exhibitions and contemporary curation in the 21st century.
7th Week Midterm
8th Week Culture industry and arts management
9th Week Market structure, marketing techniques and the function of the curator in arts management
10th Week Exhibition methods and art manager categories
11th Week International exhibition samples analysis
12th Week Analysis of national exhibition samples
13th Week Art direction interviews with guest curators
14th Week Final
