COURSE DEFINITION
This course covers the history and theory of comics. In this context, the development of the comic from its emergence to the present is examined in detail. Information is given about the popular comic book schools today. By reading selected comics and discussing them in the classroom environment, subtext analysis is done. Examples of harmonious use of scenario, drawing, visual design and typography are examined. Learned knowledge is reinforced with practice. Students produce comics by visualizing a scenario they will write with an artistic style of their choice (drawing, vector, photography, collage, etc.). In this process, they reinforce their visual communication skills and become better able to express themselves visually, both with the scenario and by transforming it into a visual.
