LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Will have basic technical knowledge about computer graphics and application skills in vector graphics and will gain the ability to adapt what is known to the field of visual communication.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course is a practical course on desktop publishing. After a general review of desktop publishing software, we will use Adobe InDesign CC software to produce visual design projects. You will experience the teamwork environment by criticizing projects and methods with your classmates while practicing the creative processes, project management and digital design workflow plan. In the semester, besides being a listener in the classroom environment, you are expected to be an active/participant student such as reading suggested web articles and watching videos, contributing to class discussions, continuing projects during extracurricular times.

1st Week Lecture introduction, discussion about the development process of desktop publishing.
2nd Week General typesetting rules and general review of Office software, introduction of Adobe InDesign software interface and tools, new document creation, PROJECT 1. Briefing.
3rd Week Introducing Adobe InDesign tools, explaining the template page system, explaining the grids and rulers, PROJECT 1. Study selection.
4th Week Coloring, object alignments and object associations in Adobe InDesign software, PROJECT 1. Application.
5th Week Styles and typographic editing studies in Adobe InDesign software, PROJECT 1. Application.
6th Week Advanced application practices in Adobe InDesign software, PROJECT 1. Application, PROJECT 2. Information.
7th Week Advanced application practices in Adobe InDesign software, PROJECT 1. Submission, Critique of Sketches.
8th Week Advanced application practices / interactive applications in Adobe InDesign software, PROJECT 2. Study.
