LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learns the basic concepts in international economy. 2) Knows the theoretical framework and application method of international economy. 3) Gains knowledge of how to profit from trade within the framework of theoretical models. 4) Understands alternative foreign trade theories and the effects of international factor movements and income distribution. 5) Have an idea about protectionism in foreign trade and trade policies in developing countries under the approach of new and traditional protectionism and baby industries thesis. 6) Can see the reflections of Turkey-EU relations and Customs Union process in practice from a wide perspective.

COURSE DEFINITION | International economics is one of the branches of economics that examines the economic and financial transactions of a country with other countries. In addition to the flow of goods and services between the country and the foreign world, it also includes international labor, capital and technology flows. In that respect, the concept of international economics includes broader issues than foreign trade, which only deals with the import and export of goods and services. |
