LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) develop sub-skills of reading, listening, speaking and writing by specifically focusing on topics related to engineering
2) learn the meaning and use of language, words and phrases associated with different text types in engineering, using appropriate strategies to work out meaning
3) learn 400 vocabulary items and phrases they may use in their career
4) complete different types of writing tasks.

RECOMMENDED OPTIONAL PROGRAMME COMPONENT-
COURSE DEFINITIONENG 200 is an English for Specific Purposes course at 3 different levels: A1, A2, and B1, whose pre-requisite course is ENG 199. The course is designed to improve four main skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing) in an integrated manner. The main objective of the course is to help engineering students develop their language skills by focusing on career-specific vocabulary and contexts. The course addresses topics related to engineering including tools, materials, numbers, engineering concepts, and converting measurements. Learners are also encouraged to study independently.
