At the end of this course, the students; 1) Understands the basics of converting information into electrical signals and transmitting it to long distances. 2) Gain in-depth knowledge of amplitude and frequency modulations, demodulations and phase-locked loops. 3) Will be able to consider the concepts of multiple access techniques and spectral multiplexing during the design of communication systems. 4) Comprehends the basics of digitizing analog signals and digital communication. 5) Comprehends the fundamentals of digital communication including coherent filter, signal space techniques and ideal receiver design. 6) Gains knowledge of Gaussian noise processes and consideration of noise processes in communication systems design.
