At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learn basic philosophical basis of ethical principles used in clinical psychology. 2) Learn how ethical decision making works. 3) Learn the ethical principles are applied in psychotherapy. 4) Learn the ethical principles applied in clinical research, publication and teaching.

COURSE DEFINITION | Clinical psychologists face a lot of ethical dilemmas in professional practice while maintaining a close, yet professionally distant relationship with their clients. In this course, the students will focus on basic ethical principles and concepts such as moral reasoning, values, and professional ethics. After being introduced to APA and EFPA Meta codes, the students will be encouraged to learn and discuss the development of the Turkish ethics code. With the help of various real and hypothetical cases, the students will be able to understand the basic steps of ethical decision making process and the procedures to be followed when they face an ethical dilemma or violation. |
