At the end of this course, the students; 1) Can establish a connection between aesthetics and life, and defines the place of aesthetics in our lives. 2) Explain the relationship between art and aesthetics. 3) Defines the difference between knowledge obtained from philosophy, science and art. 4) Can explain the basic features of a work of art. 5) Can explain art and the function of art in contemporary life. 6) Explains and evaluates the relationship between media and aesthetics.

COURSE DEFINITION
The aim of this course is to acquire basic knowledge of visual aesthetics, to explain aesthetic elements in relation to photography and video within the framework of art-artist-audience, and to examine contemporary discussion topics.

2nd Week
The subject of aesthetics, its content, the distinction between art philosophy and aesthetics, the language of art, aesthetics and communication.
3rd Week
Art and its dimensions. Art as concept, product and process
4th Week
The artist, the artwork, and the receiver
5th Week
Aesthetic pleasure, aesthetic experience and anxiety, taste and aesthetic judgments
6th Week
Art and knowledge, quality of knowledge gained from art, acquisition of image and aesthetic knowledge

Basic qualities of artwork: Fiction, polysemy, originality, novelty, organic integrity
