At the end of this course, the students; 1) Comprehends the birth and development of cinema. 2) Explain the important movements of cinema art. 3) Explain the directors and screenwriters of the art of cinema. 4) Becomes able to examine the dramatic structure of the film. 5) Analyzes the reflections of sociological events affecting societies on cinema. 6) Gains the skill of making movie analysis.

COURSE DEFINITION
In the course, in which the developments in the period from the invention of the cinema to the present are processed chronologically within the framework of various countries, historical events and different cultural environments, cinema as a mass media, the birth and technological development of cinema, silent cinema, cinemas of various countries are discussed. It is aimed to introduce important periods of World Cinema History, cinema movements and genres with examples.
