LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Are dominated by the tecnical concepts of digital photography.
2) Know the basic settings on a digital camera menus.
3) Can detect the technical difficulties on photo and correct them.
4) Can improve photos aesthetically by the digital image processing.
5) Can be ready the photos for use in print and on the web.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course aims to provide students' technical competencies in digital photography; It aims to gain mastery in processing photographs for archiving, correction and improvement in computer environment. Within the scope of the course, students will be taught the features of digital photography, its differences from traditional photography, and the knowledge of the equipment used; It is planned to gain practical skills for processing digital photographic images in computer environment, archiving them, making them ready for use on the web or for printing.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week Course description. Explaining the content and purpose of the course, the way the course is run and the presentation of the materials.
2nd Week Basic definitions of digital cameras: Sensors, pixels, crop factor, different file formats.
3rd Week Introduction to photo processing. Photoshop and other software. Photo archiving software.
4th Week Basic tools in Photoshop.
5th Week Interference with light and contrast over the whole image.
6th Week color space. Color correction and replacement.
7th Week Framing correction, reframing. Perspective correction.
8th Week MIDTERM
9th Week Regional selection tools and regional intervention in photography.
10th Week layers
11th Week Camera Raw
12th Week Filters, ready-made software
13th Week Creating panoramic photo and HDR photo.
14th Week Making photos ready for print and web.
15th Week FINAL EXAMINATION
