At the end of this course, the students; 1) Makes the definition of psychology. 2) Explains the study areas of psychology. 3) Comprehends the importance of psychology, its relationship with other disciplines and sub-examination areas of psychology. 4) Understands what perception, motive and sensation are. 5) Gains knowledge of personality theories and defense mechanisms.

COURSE DEFINITION
The aim of the course is to teach the students the definition of psychology, the history of psychology, the fields of psychology (social psychology, clinical psychology, educational psychology, etc.), theories of psychology (behavioral theories, cognitive theories, existential theory, etc.), biological foundations of psychology, intelligence and theories, sensation and to provide information about perception, memory, personality and theories, abnormal behaviors, motivation, excitement, defense mechanisms, personality and social psychology.
