LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Explains the basic concepts of photography.
2) Recognize the important role of master photographers, photograpy.
3) Recognize the professional and semi-profesional cameras.
4) Can create understandable, interesting and aesthetically photographic compositions.
5) Can produce photo within the framework of a given topic.

COURSE DEFINITIONIt is aimed to enable students to systematically acquire basic photography knowledge within the framework of a certain photographic logic, and to familiarize them with the structural elements of photography and to learn to use them as compositional elements. Examining the relationship of photography with various branches of science, craft and art by considering the historical background and process of the birth of photography; acquisition of basic photographic knowledge; The content of this course is to gain the ability to take adequate photographs in terms of technique and composition by controlling the variables that allow the creation of a photographic image.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week Course description. Explaining the content and purpose of the course, the way the course is run and the presentation of the materials.
2nd Week Description of the photo. An overview of the history of photography. Description of the camera. Parts and use.
3rd Week Lenses. The importance of the lens for the camera and the final image. Different types of lenses and their use.
4th Week Shutter and Diaphragm concepts and functions.
5th Week Sensitive materials used in photography: Films and sensors. Differences between film and digital machines, basic concepts. ISO concept.
6th Week Light information. Effective use of light in photography. Definitions of natural and artificial light. Direction of light, its propagation and its effect on the image.
7th Week Light Meters. Different light metering modes and their effects on photography
8th Week MIDTERM
9th Week Filters. Auxiliary items. Camera maintenance. Storage conditions of images.
10th Week Flashes, reflectors. Use of Bounce flash.
11th Week Composition in photography. The basic elements of the composition.
12th Week The main point of interest in the photo. To create compositions that are strong in terms of content and aesthetics.
13th Week Shooting trip.
14th Week Preparing photos for exhibition and presentation.
15th Week FINAL EXAMINATION
