COURSE CONTENTS

1st Week Introduction to Schenker Analysis I course.
2nd Week Basic terms and principles - 1: Beethoven, Piano Sonata, Op. 2, No. 1, I.
3rd Week Basic terms and principles
4th Week Bass line and harmony: Prolonging tonic harmony, Substitute degree harmonies, dominant harmony and cadences, chord prolongation.
5th Week Linear techniques: Linear progressions, linear intervallic patterns, neighbor tone.
6th Week Tonal structure: Notation symbols, tonal structure and
7th Week Techniques of melodik prolongation - 1: Initial descend, arpeggiated descend, Unfolding, moving into an inner voice, moving from an inner voice, voice exchange, shift of register, descending and ascending register transfer.
8th Week Techniques of melodik prolongation - 1:
9th Week "Improvement of basic concepts -1: Mozart, Piano Sonata, K. 283, I. Beethoven, Piano Sonata, Op. 14, No. 1, II."
10th Week Presentations of mid-term projects.
11th Week Improvement of basic concepts
