LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Gain the ability to analyze and treat dental problems by having knowledge about pharmacological and non-pharmacological behavior management techniques in pediatric patients.
2) Learning the differences between primary and permanent tooth morphologies and cavity preparations.
3) It is expected to learn the methods of prevention from caries and to comprehend fissure sealant and fluorine applications.
4) Learning pulpal pathologies and treatments in primary and young permanent teeth
5) It is aimed to have information about the growth and development events, malocclusions and etiologies, and the appliances that can be used in dental arches and facial skeletal structures.
6) Understanding the systemic effects of nutrients on growth and development and their local effects on the oral cavity
7) Learning about childhood diseases and oral findings of these diseases
8) To have information about the classification of childhood periodontal diseases, epidemiology and microbiology of periodontal diseases, immunity and inflammation, host-microbial interactions and molecular biology of periodontal diseases and oral pathologies.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe objective is to complete dental treatments by using the behaviour management techniques in children and to learn the treatment modality correctly.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week - Takes and evaluates anamnesis.Makes treatment plans. Evaluates radiography.Protective applications include fissure treatments, topical fluoride applications by the student himself.
2nd Week - For complicated restorations, the student observes lecturer while performing the procedure.Gives oral hygiene training to patients.
3rd Week -Assists lecturer to learn the four-handed working system while treating patients. Works one-on-one with the lecturer on case planning, evaluation and orientation.
