LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learn to make the diagnosis and treatment of frequent pediatric diseases in real patients. 2) Can pre-diagnose and refer patients with rare diseases to relevant subspecialities. 3) Can perform medical interventions in real patients with frequent pediatric diseases. 4) Can refer rare pediatric patients to relevant subspecialities in order to help perform the specisific medical interventions by them.

RECOMMENDED OPTIONAL PROGRAMME COMPONENT | The Phase VI students are involved monthly in ward and outpatient clinics during 2 months, they at tend to education in subspecialities of pediatrics they are located for rotation. |
COURSE DEFINITION | The aim of Pediatrics-Phase VI course is to educate the students in prophylactic measures, diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents and patients of this age group. The students will specifically focus on the most important subjects in prophylactic pediatrics; vaccination, nutrition, monitorization of growth and development of children and adolescents. Therefore, the program primarily offers practice about clinical examination of these children and adolescents. After reviewing the occurences and definitions of various signs and symptoms in pediatrics and the classification of pediatric disorders, interns both observe patients by attending inpatient rounds and follow them under the supervision of residents and faculties. |
COURSE CONTENTS | Phase VI students are educated about growth and development, nutition, protection from childhood diseases, diagnosis and treatment of frequent childhood diseases.
