LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Recognize studies about qasida form.
2) Learn the technical and aesthetic properties of qasida form.
3) Learn the historical development of qasida form.
4) Know representatives and their texts in Ottoman literature.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course focuses on the historical development, formal aspects, and content of masnavi as a genre. Selected texts will be analyzed in a socio-political context, and will be compared to the romance tradition.
