At the end of this course, the students; 1) Read Ottoman Turkish texts from various genres. 2) Read manuscripts texts. 3) Know Arabic and Persian rules in Ottoman Turkish. 4) Analyzes Ottoman Turkish texts with regard to morphology, syntax, and semantics.

COURSE DEFINITION
In this course, sources and types of Ottoman Turkish manuscripts, orthographic, linguistic and stylistics features of texts, critical texts of Ottoman Turkish, using of Arabic, Persian and Ottoman Turkish dictionaries, transcription of manuscripts will be included. The discussions will include studies of translation to contemporary Turkish of texts, analyzing and interpretation of grammatical features on texts.
