LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will learn how the elements that constitute a movie contribute to its meaning 2) Will learn to understand the movie - reality relation with the help of two main theories 3) Will learn how to approach a movie and interpret the movie like a text

COURSE DEFINITION	In this course the film theory will be covered within the frame of fundamental literature from it?s beginning until today, in order to comprehend different theories and approaches that examine cinema in theory. The course discusses how to approach a film and interpret the film as a narration in the light of formalism and realism, structuralism and post-structuralism and theoretical approaches of post-cinema era.
