1) Evaluate the concept of news from an academic perspective.
2) Explain the basic concepts of radio and TV journalism, comprehend the usage of audio and image at the announcement.
3) Are informed about application methods of radio and TV journalism.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe aim of this course is to give students basic information about radio and television journalism and to prepare them for radio and television journalism profession by using this information.
COURSE CONTENTS

1st Week The concepts of news, the relationship between news and reality: Liberal-Pluralist approach.
2nd Week The relationship between news and reality: Critical approaches.
3rd Week Kinds of news.
4th Week The process of news gathering and news production.
5th Week Theoretical approaches to the television news-1.
6th Week Theoretical approaches to the television news-2.
7th Week News analysis.
8th Week Midterm.
9th Week The basic concepts of TV journalism.
10th Week The characteristics of TV journalism.
11th Week The importance of TV interview: Case discussions.
12th Week The usage of image at the announcement: Case discussions.
13th Week The stages of radio news production.
14th Week Podcast journalism.
