COURSE DEFINITIONIn this course, students using the principles and principles of human-oriented design; learn to solve a product, service or social responsibility communication design problem in an interactive group work and develop communication design products.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week Introduction to the course, meeting, explaining what will be done during the semester and what will be expected from the student by the end of the semester
2nd Week What is data visualization? What are data visualization tools? Examination of sample applications.
3rd Week What is information design? History of information design. Information design application areas.
4th Week Visual design elements and principles in the information design process: text, color, image, balance, integrity, continuity, contrast, emphasis, order. In-class practice.
5th Week Graphs, tables, diagrams and charts in the information design process. Sample reviews. In-class practice.
6th Week Infographics in the information design process. Sample reviews. In-class practice.
7th Week Document design, user manual design and maps in the information design process. Sample reviews. In-class practice.
8th Week Midterm.
9th Week Initiation of information design project.
10th Week Continuing the project design.
11th Week Continuing the project design.
12th Week Continuing the project design.
13th Week Continuing the project design.
14th Week Overall rating and feedback.
