At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learn concepts related to specific areas of International Law; 2) Have knowledge of Maritime Law, 3) Have knowledge of International Air Law, 4) Have knowledge of Space Law. 5) . Learn the concepts of enforcement and sanction in International Law, and the concepts and rules regarding the use of force; 6) Know that in case of a violation of International Law, injured State may have counter measure options, if necessary, such as retaliation, reprisal and self-help, 7) Learn that in case of situations having negative effect on international peace and security, regional/global organizations may apply sanctions, 8) Understand when uses of force may be lawful; comprehend the importance of conducting armed conflicts in accordance with the law. 9) Learn the legal framework of the international peace and security ('collective security'), and concepts regarding the individual criminal responsibility in terms of international criminal law; 10) Know the duties, powers, and responsibilities of the UN Security Council, 11) Take notice the potential complementary functions of regional organizations and regulations, 12) Evaluate the state responsibility in terms of International Law as well as potential individual responsibility in terms of international crimes, and the importance and functions of the complementary jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice.

COURSE DEFINITION
): ?Inter-State Law?, as generally known, has considerably changed and developed. Structural framework of international relations has changed. In our day, examining only inter-state relations does not suffice. In addition to the basic & general framework, numerous new topics, inter alia, law of the sea, air law, human rights law, law of armed conflict, international criminal law, use of armed force by states, collective security law also need to be covered. Aim of this course is to carry knowledge of the law student with respect to public international law, to an up-to-date level. Topics covered also include current international legal challenges; thus, some missing dimensions are complemented.
