At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learn the basic concepts, themes and methods of Educational Anthropology 2) Understand similarities and differences in basic areas such as school, class, syllabus and teacher training by analyzing the educational studies about different cultures 3) Evaluate the educate teaching and learning processes in a cultural context both at national and global level.

COURSE DEFINITION
Content, basic concepts, history and methods of anthropology; basic approaches in social-cultural anthropology; education from the anthropological perspective and basic concepts of educational anthropology; culture, acculturation, adaptation, subculture, common culture etc, cultural foundations and functions of education; intercultural differentiation; education and learning, school as a life space; school cultures and ethnologies, media, mass media means; popular culture and education; globalization; cultural interactions, cultural literacy and education; education in the oral and written literary work of Turkish culture and civilization history , roles of parents and children in the Turkish family structure.
