LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Aware of beliefs in mathematics education, self-efficacy beliefs in mathematics, mathematics anxiety, attitudes towards mathematics, mathematical confidence, and values in mathematics education.
2) Research the impact of affective skills on learning mathematics and investigate the importance of addressing affective skills along with cognitive skills.
3) Examine, develop, and evaluate in-class activities aimed at enhancing affective skills.
4) Plan and implement mathematics activities aimed at developing affective skills.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe students taking this course are expected to have knowledge about beliefs in mathematics education, self-efficacy beliefs in mathematics, mathematics anxiety, attitudes towards mathematics, mathematical confidence, values in mathematics education, the utility of mathematics, mathematical resilience, and mathematics motivation. This course covers topics such as the impact of students' affective skills on learning mathematics and the importance of addressing affective skills along with cognitive skills; examination, development, and evaluation of in-class activities aimed at enhancing affective skills.
