At the end of this course, the students; 1) Explains the basic concepts and approaches regarding Children's Rights 2) Analyzes the scope of children's rights in national and international agreements 3) Explains the importance of children's rights violations and measures 4) Explains child rights and types of neglect and abuse in the world and in Turkey. 5) Links the rights-based approach to education for all with social needs 6) Establishes and explains the relationship between children's rights and school, teacher and society 7) Explains the importance of child rights advocacy and teacher responsibilities

COURSE DEFINITION
In this course, students will learn about the definition of the child, the child in Turkish culture, the place and
value of the child in society and the family, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, child rights and abuse,
the situation and abuse of the child in Turkey, types of child abuse, physical, sexual, emotional abuse and
neglect, orphan and learns about the problems of street children, child protection and rehabilitation works.
