At the end of this course, the students; 1) At the end of the course, students will have grasped the main concepts of children's literature and the theoretical basis of children's literature. 2) Knows the basic elements of children's literature and the qualities that children's literature works should have. 3) Can select children's literature works according to the student's level and evaluate these works.

COURSE DEFINITION
By the end of this course, students will acquire the development of children's literature in the world and Turkey, the importance of meeting qualified children's books in childhood, and the function of children's literature in raising sensitive and thinking individuals who have acquired a reading culture; examining the properties (design, content and educational) that should be present in children's literature works with examples, illustrating unqualified children's books with examples and discussing their negative effects on children's developmental characteristics; studies to determine the suitability of the pre-service teachers according to the age groups of the books they read and examine, and what development they will contribute to, determining the contribution of various literary literary genres (epic, fairy tales, poetry, stories, novels, etc.) and linguistic materials (counting, rhyme, riddles etc.) addressing children to children's development.
