At the end of this course, the students; 1) Explains the relationship between cognitive development and mathematical concepts. 2) Explains whether the activities used in teaching mathematical concepts are developmentally appropriate. 3) Describes effective teaching and assessment methods for mathematics in early childhood. 4) Knows the basic mathematical concepts in preschool period. 5) Relates the place and importance of mathematical concepts in our daily life. 6) For the development of mathematical concepts produces events. 7) Get to know scientists working on Mathematics in preschool period.

COURSE DEFINITION | By the end of this course students will acquire learning the relationship between cognitive development and
mathematical concepts, evaluating whether the activities used in teaching mathematical concepts are suitable
for development, explaining effective teaching and evaluation methods for mathematics in early childhood,
understanding what basic mathematical concepts are in the preschool years, associating the place and importance of mathematical concepts in our daily life, to produce activities for the development of
mathematical concepts. |
