LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Will be able to explain early childhood education and its importance.
2) Will be able to explain the historical development of early childhood education in the world and in Turkey.
3) Will be able to explain the developmental characteristics and needs of children.
4) Will be able to explain the basic characteristics of a preschool teacher.
5) Will be able to analyze the types and basic characteristics of pre-school education institutions.

COURSE DEFINITIONBy the end of this course, students will acquire definition and principles of early childhood, importance and necessity of early childhood education, views on early childhood education and its historical development, the child's developmental characteristics and needs;, early childhood education in Turkey and in the world, characteristics of preschool teacher, types of preschool education institutions, physical, social and educational environmental characteristics of pre-school education institutions, the child's right to participate; examines the role and importance of family in early childhood education.
