LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Analyze existing spaces and new architectural design problems in line with the needs and demands of users with various disabilities. 2) Recognize architectural design criteria and accessibility standards for the disabled. 3) Produce architectural design solutions inline with the needs and demands of disabled users by making theoretical and practical studies according to the relevant national and international standards as data in the design. 4) Adopt the ?Design for All? principle in the design of built environment. 5) Demonstrate ability in collaborative thinking, working and design.

COURSE DEFINITION | This course is designed for students to raise their awareness and ability to foresee the problems that may be faced by the disabled in the built environment design and understand the need for design solutions in line with the needs and demands of the users with various temporary or permanent disabilities. The course aims to define the characteristics of users with various disabilities and to develop the knowledge and skills of designing spaces according to universal standards. |
