At the end of this course, the students; 1) Develop inclusive and flexible building and space design solutions that can be used by the largest possible number of users, with various individual, physical, cultural and social differences.
2) Develop innovative and sustainable design solutions by analyzing and criticizing existing built environment and space designs within the framework of seven basic universal design principles. 3) Develop innovative and sustainable design solutions for new architectural design projects within the framework of universal design principles. 4) Develop critical thinking that foresees the needs that may arise as a result of climatic, cultural and economic changes and developments over time and reflects these predictions to design solutions. 5) Determine and follows national and standards, policies and regulations that are related to sustainable universal design approach. 6) Demonstrate ability in collaborative thinking, working and design.

COURSE DEFINITION
This course will introduce Universal Design approach, which is an important approach for sustainable development, emerging from the concepts of accessible, flexible, adaptable and inclusive design,. In the course, the history and development process of universal design, seven basic universal design principles and its contribution to the structural environment in terms of ecological, economic and social sustainability will be discussed. In addition to these discussions, students are expected to produce universal design solutions by thinking, discussing and analyzing existing public spaces and housing designs and new architectural design problems in individual and group studies throughout the semester.
