At the end of this course, the students; 1) To evaluate the history of manifestos, which is one of the most striking ways of producing discourse in architecture since the beginning of the twentieth century. 2) To analyze the ideas produced through manifestos in architecture with their contexts and common concerns, and compare the historical role of architects, their bond with the social structure and their arguments for the future. 3) To question the relationship and differentiation between discursive ideas and architectural productions. 4) To make a comparative periodical analysis of architecture through manifesto texts. 5) To analyze the integrated relationship between the discourse of space and the production of texts.

COURSE DEFINITION
This course aims to analyze the context in which architectural manifestos emerged as a form of discourse production. From the beginning of the twentieth century, it covers the architects, discursive and practical activities and also architectural praxis of their time with the excerpts from selected manifestoes that can be grouped under four main headings of artistic movements, housing problems, formal innovations and urban space.
