At the end of this course, the students; 1) Relate the architectural movements and ideas that emerged in the second half of the 20th century and the 21st century with each other chronologically. 2) Relate architectural forms, construction techniques and building materials with the social, economic, cultural and technological contexts and interactions they belong to in history. 3) Develop the curiosity, inquiry and uses scientific research methods. 4) Make spatial analysis of important buildings in verbal and visual environments. 5) Distinguish and compare architectural and artistic productions in similar and different contexts. 6) Raise awareness of current discussions, approaches and studies on architectural productions and discourses for the 20th and the 21st century. 7) Develop and uses the skills of thinking, reading and writing on architecture.

COURSE DEFINITION
In this course students acquire basic knowledge of the important developments in the field of architecture from the second half of the 20th century to the present. The aim of the course is to examine and analyze the developments, transformations and changes in architecture and the built environment in the light of the ongoing social, social, economic, cultural and technological contexts and interactions in the above-mentioned time period. The changing values after World War II, their social reflections, their effects on architectural theory and practices constitute the main discussions of the course.
