At the end of this course, the students; 1) Analyze the architectural examples, collects and evaluates the data related to the architectural problem. 2) Interpret and applies the tangible and intangible dimensions and basic components of architectural design. 3) Produce architectural drawings, models and representations according to the technical rules. 4) Evaluate the project context (physical, social, cultural, historical and environmental context) by associating them with each other and responds to this with the solutions he/she produces. 5) Interpret and applies building-site relations, indoor-outdoor integrity for the building and building-user relations by associating them with each other. 6) Interpret the architectural program through the context of the place and manages the requirements related to the building in the design process with a holistic perspective.

COURSE DEFINITION
Design Studio I aims to introduce students to the basic concepts and architectural analysis methods related to architectural design. During the semester, students gather, evaluate and develop the necessary information about a multi-storey architectural problem of limited scale using their design skills. In this context, in the architectural design developed, it takes into account the physical and social layers of the built environment and aims to bring a holistic solution to the limited scale problem by interpreting the program. While students understand the importance of producing a theme, human-space-function relationship, ergonomics and indoor-outdoor relationships in architectural design, they also develop architectural drawing and representation skills that express architectural design ideas.
