At the end of this course, the students; 1) To interpret and employ concepts, principles, objectives of basic design. 2) To be able to distinguish and identify elements of 2D and 3D designs and describe and analyse relations between them. 3) To develop the sense and skill to arrange and design together multiple and varied elements in an orderly manner. 4) To develop skills in providing creative solutions to design problems and original concepts. 5) To be able to present his/her mental effort and ideas clearly in 2D and 3D media. 6) To be able to work individually and in groups in developing proposals during the design process

COURSE DEFINITION
MİM 191/ Basic Design is the first of the design course series, which acquaints the learner with fundamentals of design. It aims to develop learners? skills in providing solutions to two and three dimensional basic design problems. It also aims to enable learners build up the sense of abstraction and the sense order with particular emphasis on the principles of organisation in visual media. The course develops learners? skills in arranging and designing together multiple and varied elements in an orderly manner.
