COURSE DEFINITION
In this course, transformations and social structures in the fields of rural-urban, class, gender, ethnicity, economy, society, politics and culture in an important and contemporary region such as the Middle East are examined from a sociological perspective. This examination is made through the concepts of globalization-localization, transformation-reproduction, actor-structure, modernity-post-modernity, development-underdevelopment, community-identity and world system-regional systems, which are among the main topics and theories of sociology.
