| COURSE DEFINITION | The concept of political power and theories about power will be discussed. The course addresses a wide spectrum such as the development of the modern state, especially the nation-state and its crisis, the formation of the public sphere in modern societies and its relationship with democracy, globalization and risk society, ethnicity, race and nation, citizenship theories and criticisms. |
