LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Development process of Turkish sociology starting from the 19th century, is analyzed daily.
2) Students who take this course are expected to learn the history of Turkish sociology in relation with the socio-political history of Turkey.
3) Important sociologists, their contribution to the field and their studies are examined in comparison with Turkey's modernization process.

COURSE DEFINITIONIn this course, the development processes of Turkish sociology are analyzed from the 19th century to the present. In the course, important sociologists, their contributions to the field and their studies are examined in comparison with Turkey's modernization process.

1st Week Introduction to the course, introduction to the course and basic concepts
2nd Week The development of sociology in Europe and Turkey
3rd Week Ziya Gökalp's first studies and the socio-political developments of the 1908-1918 period
4th Week The work of Ziya Gökalp in the post-1918 period and Prince Sabahattin.
5th Week Sociology of the 5th Constitutional Era.
6th Week Establishment of the Turkish Republic and sociology
7th Week Intellectual Foundations of Turkish Sociology
8th Week Midterm Exam
9th Week Turkish Sociology during the 1940-1960 period
10th Week Turkish sociology during the 1960-1980 period
11th Week Post-1980 period
12th Week Turkish Sociologists and Their Studies 1
