At the end of this course, the students; 1) Understand timeline of classical and modern biotechnology, bioprocess and bioreactors with principles of cell factories and downstream processes. 2) Learn pharmaceutical applications for health biotechnology. 3) Understand fundamentals of food and industrial biotechnology. 4) Understand and discuss fundamentals of agricultural and environmental biotechnology. 5) Understand and discuss global impact of biotechnology on society, market and projections, legal regulations and patenting, and ethical and safety issues in biotechnology.
