LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Recognize the structure of different organ systems in the body and learn their general functions and relate them to molecular biology. 2) Learn the basic role of homeostasis and related mechanisms in human physiology. 3) Know cardiovascular systems and the locomotion and support systems in the body. 4) Gain knowledge of the structure and functions of the nervous system and endocrine systems that are the main control systems in the body. 5) Know the basic steps in the digestion and absorption of food and in the regulation of water and inorganic ions in kidneys. 6) Learn about the immune system and reproduction. 7) Learn to establish a relationship between physiology and molecular biology genetics in applications related to the subject; gain an overview of research on human genetic diseases and make written and oral presentations on a case-by-case basis.
