COURSE DEFINITION	The purpose of the course is to teach the techniques and principals of orchestration.
COURSE CONTENTS	WEEK TOPICS 1st Week Concept of orchestra, groups, and timber and texture 2nd Week An overview of String Section, the bow and other techniquesKnowledge of musical instruments. 3rd Week Individual Strings, idiomatic writing 4th Week Individual Strings, idiomatic writing continued 5th Week The Baroque texture and basso continuo 6th Week The Baroque texture and basso continuo 7th Week Mid term exam. 8th Week The Baroque texture and concertato medium 9th Week The Baroque texture and concerto medium 10th Week Towards classicism, changes in texture and form 11th Week Towards Classicism, double oboe and horns and alternative scorings 12th Week Towards Classicism, double oboe and horns and alternative scorings continued 13th Week Towards Classicism, separation of cello and contrabass 14th Week Revision of the covered subjects
