LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) Can write the counterpoint part over/under a given cantus firmus. 2) nalyze the background counterpoint organization in a given work. 3) Can demonstrate similar approaches in a short 3-voice innovation he/she compose.

COURSE DEFINITION	To be able to understand basics of 3 part counterpoint.
COURSE CONTENTS	WEEK TOPICS 1st Week The scope of the course. C.f. given in the lower part in two-voice strict counterpoint in major and minor customs. 5th type (embroidery/fleuri) work on the upper lot. 2nd Week C.f. given in the upper part in two-voice strict counterpoint in major and minor customs. 5th type (embroidery/fleuri) work on the lower part with. 3rd Week Doryen, 5. Kind of study in Frigian customs. 4th Week Type 1 (one versus one) practice in three-voice counterpoint. 5th Week Type 2 (two against one) practice in three-voice counterpoint. 6th Week Type 3 (four against one) practice in the upper and intermediate parts in three-voice counterpoint. 7th Week Type 3 (four against one) practice in the lower part in three-voice counterpoint. 8th Week Midterm 9th Week Type 4 (syncope) practice in the upper part in three-voice counterpoint. 10th Week 4. Kind (with syncope) practice in the intermediate part in three-voice counterpoint. 11th Week 5th type (embroidered) work in the upper two parts in three-voice counterpoint. 12th Week 5. Kind (embroidered) work in two outer parts in three-voice counterpoint. 13th Week 5.
