LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Explain and discuss the importance of Industry 4.0, its distinctive features, general stages and differences from other industrial revolutions.
2) Discuss the basic properties of Industry 4.0 components and make comparisons among these components.
3) Evaluate the importance, elements, positive and negative effects of Industry 4.0 components (big data, robotics technologies, cloud computing technologies and internet of objects).
4) Evaluate the reflections of Industry 4.0 practices in the business ethics dimension and develop a critical perspective towards these practices.
5) Aware of the role, priorities, strategies and possible action plans of the public sector within the context of Industry 4.0.
6) Compare and evaluate the practices of Industry 4.0 in different sectors.

COURSE DEFINITIONIn recent years, there have been significant developments in manufacturing processes thanks to the studies in the fields of the internet of objects, robotics and big data analysis and the solutions brought by these studies. With the emergence of such smart systems, the concept of 4.0 Industry 4.0 has come into our lives. The aim of Industry 4.0 is to provide physical support of manpower by following the processes with cyber-physical systems, to create virtual factory environments and to ensure that decentralized collaborative decisions can be made through the communication of things with each other and with people. In this sense, it is aimed that students have knowledge about Industry 4.0 in line with current developments.
