LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Know what business is and the functions performed by businesses
2) Know different business administration and management principles of organizations in international business environments
3) Know the fundementals of organization theory and organizational behaviour
4) Know the general concepts about the marketing function
5) Knows fundamental concepts about production and operations management
6) Knows general concepts about accounting and finance management
7) Has knowledge about the ethical and social responsibility of the organizations and the problems organizations face today
8) Knows fundamental concepts about entrepreneurship and can prepare a business plan

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course is an introduction to business subjects, concentrating on each of the major functions of business. It gives a general idea about management and organizations, marketing, production management, accounting, finance and international trade, which will be studied in detail in further courses. Information about the relationship between a business enterprise and its social and economic environment is given.
