1) Gain an insight in to the workings and evolution of the Ottoman economy, and into the effects of the developments in the Western European Societies, especially of the Industrial Revolution, on The Ottoman economy.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course focuses on the economic structure and functioning of the Ottoman Empire and examines how the economic structure of the Ottoman Empire was shaped especially after the industrial revolution.
