At the end of this course, the students; 1) Understand evolution of the European Union's institutions and policies, their present situation and the relations between the European Union and Turkey. 2) Should have become familiar, with the basic policies and institutions of the European Union the logic behind them and their evolution; the current problems within the Union, and the evolution of the relations between Turkey and the Union.

COURSE DEFINITION
In this course, first of all, European philosophy and the development of the Union will be discussed. In the second stage, the EU will be examined in the context of international economic integration, then the EU's Common Agriculture, Trade, Industry, Competition and Finance Policies will be put forward. In addition, the formation of the Monetary Union and the EU's transition to a Political Union through monetary union will be examined, and the Community Budget and Social Policies will be presented as an example of the EU's financial and economic functioning mechanism.
