LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Learn money, role of money in economy, monetary theory and policy, financial markets and their structures and functions.
2) Understand money and interest rates, thec entral banks, banking system, and Money creation, the tools of monetary policies and how to conduct these policies.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe main objective of this course is to examine how financial markets work in general. Functions of financial institutions, monetary theory, the interaction between money supply and financial markets, the bond market and the structure of interest rates are some of the topics that will be covered. Students who take this course also will learn how to interpret financial news they hear from media.
