LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) To understand the concepts of stage and set in the process from the past to the present
2) Mastering the set design works for different visual arts
3) Comprehension of contemporary application approaches in set design
4) Constructing and comprehending the relationship between space and equipment in set design
5) Gain the ability to shape design elements according to different scene requirements
6) The ability to apply lighting, sound, decor applications on the project in set design

COURSE DEFINITIONIn different branches of visual arts; By examining the stage and set design concept, it is aimed to comprehend its development in the historical process. Comparative applications will be made on the project by emphasizing studies in areas such as theatre, TV sets and film sets. International and domestic contemporary set designs will be examined. In stage and set design; The relationship between lighting, sound, visual effects, equipment elements and the exhibited work will be evaluated as a whole. In this course, students will analyze a selected movie set and convey its implementation on a theater stage of their choice through the project. Students; space-equipment relationship, flexible and changeable systems, and contemporary approaches used will present projects and presentations for evaluation. Film set analysis report, design sketches and posters will be submitted in the midterm exam. Project, presentation, poster and animation works will be presented at the final.

1st Week Meeting, explanation of the teaching method, introduction
2nd Week Definition of the concept of stage and set design. Its development and change in the historical process
3rd Week The design elements used in movie sets are space equipment, flexible and changeable systems.
4th Week Stage elements and development processes from past to present in theater stages
