At the end of this course, the students; 1) Explain the major stages of development of world cultures. 2) Summarize the basic sources and methods for gaining full insight into the Turkish culture. 3) Compare the similarities and differences between cultures. 4) Relate history and cultural heritage.

COURSE DEFINITION
This course introduces the meaning of culture as a social term and, examines a set of terms related to culture, as well as cultural developments of representative civilizations, contents of Turkish culture, its sources and the phases it has gone through.
