LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Explain the phonetic and morphological features of Old Anatolian Turkish. 2) Read the Arabic scripts of the Old Anatolian Turkish period. 3) Analyze the morphological features of the words in the text. 4) Compare the characteristics of the period with Old Turkic and Turkish.

COURSE DEFINITION | In this course, by reading the texts chosen from Old Anatolian Turkish, the linguistic features of the first written period of Turkish in Anatolia will be analyzed. Based on the texts, the phonological and morphological features of Old Anatolian Turkish will be examined, the features of this period will be compared with the formal equivalents in Old Turkic and modern Turkish. The syntax and lexicon of Old Anatolian Turkish will also be evaluated in terms of language relations. |
