LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) Define the period of Eastern Middle Turkic in the history of the Turkic languages. 2) Read the Arabic scripts of Karakhanid, Khwarezm-Kipchak, and Chagatay Turkish. 3) Explain the language features of Eastern Middle Turkic. 4) Compare the phonetic and morphological features of the Eastern Middle Turkic periods. 5) Analyze the morphological features of the words in the text.

COURSE DEFINITION	In this course Kharakhanid, Khorezmian-Kipchak and Chaghatay Turkic periods will be covered. The texts chosen from Kharakhanid, Khorezmian and Kipchak Turkic will be read and analyzed. In the texts, the phonetic, morphological, syntactic and semantic features of the Middle Turkic will be studied. Comparison will also be made between Eastern Middle Turkic and other historical and modern Turkic languages.
